Homebirth Video

In collaboration with NHS Mid & South Essex

Students from our Level 3 Media Production Vocational Course worked closely with representatives from NHS Mid & South Essex to produce an information video for expectant parents about home births.

The Brief:

Produce an informative video that explains home birth as a safe and supported option for eligible expectant parents across Mid and South Essex. The film should reassure viewers by showcasing the expertise of our maternity teams, addressing common misconceptions, and highlighting the personalised care families can expect. Create an engaging, accessible piece that reflects the NHS values and can be used to support patient education and informed choice.

“I knew it was a very tall order. To achieve a professional promotional video at the cost of £0 sounded almost impossible. But with the passion and vision we all had, we managed to bring 2 services together and created an absolutely amazing video.”

Halloween Parade

In collaboration with Southend-on-Sea City Council

Students from our Level 3 Illustration & Graphic Design Vocational Course worked closely with the Southend-on-Sea City Council to create a float for the annual Halloween Parade. The parade, held on Southend Seafront, attracts over 20,000 visitors each year.

The Brief:

To design a float mounted on a vehicle out of upcycled materials, which was spooky and suitable for a family-friendly Halloween Parade.

Students were to produce detailed proposals and present them to the Events Team from Southend-on-Sea City Council.

“Collaboration was key, with students working together on construction and painting, blending personal expression into a cohesive design.”

Seasonal Marketing

In collaboration with Love Grace

Students from our Level 2 Information Technology Vocational Course worked with Hannah O’Callaghan OBE from charity Love Grace to produce seasonal marketing materials around the charity’s Reverse Advent Calendar campaign for use on social media.

The Brief:

To design social media posts, this could be a static image, video or carousel, to promote Love Grace’s Reverse Advent Calendar which runs throughout December.

The post must explain what the Reverse Advent Calendar is, but be a suitable length for social media. It must be on brand, featuring the charity’s logo and using their colours, but with a seasonal twist.

“Thank you so much, it was great to see what they came up with. Really good use of the Love Grace logo, and some use of the ‘brand’ colours.”
